Many essential steps have been accomplished right now. However, a lot remains to be done. The most urgent open points are:
Permanent class rooms:
It remains a burning issue that the funding for the permanent school classes has not yet been secured. We could finalize two classrooms during our last journey in December 2012. These classrooms are made out of stones and cement, have weather proof roofing and secure windows and doors. However, another 16 classrooms are needed to exchange the mud huts and provide a good learning environment. We and our 400 children say thank you and appreciate all your support.

Learning material:
Currently, the school only possesses one student book and one teachers guide per subject. The learning material is copied onto the blackboard (by the teacher) and then copied into exercise books (by the students). This is not only inefficient, but also no “homework” or self-study can be done outside class hours. We hope to be able to add new books to the school library to improve this situation.
